Keeping it Real

In what was undoubtedly a stellar performance, the De Lanerolle Brothers, accompanied by the National Unity Orchestra, rocked the BMICH in a night that is now cherished as an unforgettable memory! The non-stop 1 hour and 45-minute show celebrated 10 years in the international music and entertainment arena. The phenomenal Unity Orchestra, added to the existing De Lanerolle Brothers Squared Band and directed by Shobi Perera, had the audience calling for more, wishing the show would go on.

The Brothers, clad in powder blue jackets, made a dramatic entrance, walking through the audience, and serenaded with a stirring rendition of "Rhinestone Cowboy." A string of old favorites followed, showcasing the Brothers' wide musical prowess. Rohan and Ishan's voices were at their best, both in solos and duets. Rohan, in addition to singing, even conducted the orchestra – no mean feat indeed.

The Pops concert kept the audience enthralled from start to finish, with the Brothers ensuring an unforgettable musical feast. From classic hits like "My Way" to the ever-popular "Sweet Caroline," the performance was a display of the Brothers' showmanship. The National Unity Orchestra's phenomenal performance, led by musicians like Kamal on Lead Guitar and Thilanka on the flute, added to the musical extravaganza.

The sponsors, including Samsung, Dialog, Land Rover, Havelock City, HNB, The Sunday Times, Daily Mirror, Daily FT, Hi Magazine, and Real 97.1, played a crucial role in making this show a reality. The dedication, enthusiasm, and love of music displayed by the De Lanerolle Brothers and the National Unity Orchestra showcased their commitment to perfection.

While the show left ears ringing melodiously, a wish lingered for more frequent performances of the Brothers in the realm of serious music. The anticipation for their next performance, filled with the hope of an encore, remains high. Bravo to the De Lanerolle Brothers and the National Unity Orchestra!
